Glass pH electrodes can often not be used in the food industry due to the risk of glass breakage. This is done to avoid potential recalls of the final product. A so-called non-glass electrode is typically used instead, e.g. ISFET or enamel sensors.
Revolution in pH land: InPro X1 HLS and InPro X1 SLS are both innovations from Mettler Toledo! These sensors are truly unbreakable*, which makes it extremely suitable for the food industry.
This pH sensor has the same dimensions as a conventional electrode, which means that it fits into all existing set-ups. The sensor is digital and intelligent and uses ISM technology (Intelligent Sensor Management, Mettler Toledo's digital sensor platform).
InPro X1 HLS and InPro X1 SLS are truly CIP-resistant.
