ASD12-N absorption sensors are designed for use in laboratory and pilot plant fermenters and bioreactors. These sensors accurately measure microbial growth or cell growth by measuring the turbidity of the medium.
A LED beam light passes through the medium and measures the attenuation of light intensity, caused by the growth of microorganisms. ASD sensors use measurements from 840 nm to 910 nm (NIR) to eliminate the impact of the colour of the medium.
The one-piece construction of the probe guarantees long-lasting integrity and the highest level of sterility. All the parts in contact are made of electro-polished steel. The ASD12-N is autoclavable and easily mounts to any front panel with a PG 13.5 port. The ASD12-N is available in three insertion depths with optical paths of 5 or 10 mm.
Typical applications: Measurements of the growth of microorganisms, eukaryotic cells, fermentation, determination of biomass, concentration of algae, process monitoring of crystallization.
