Trusted Quality. Consistent Results. Scientifically Backed.

At Corning Life Sciences, we understand how critical serum quality is to the success of your cell culture experiments. That’s why our serum portfolio is designed to offer exceptional consistency, safety, and performance — helping researchers achieve reliable and reproducible results across a wide range of applications.

Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS)

Corning FBS is sourced from USDA- and/or EU-approved regions and processed using the highest quality standards to ensure cell health, growth, and experimental accuracy.

Options include:

  • Standard FBS – High-quality serum for routine cell culture.
  • Premium FBS – Lower endotoxin and haemoglobin levels; ideal for sensitive cell lines.
  • Charcoal Stripped FBS – Hormone-reduced for studies sensitive to steroid levels.
  • Dialyzed FBS – Removes small molecules for specialized applications (e.g., metabolic studies).
  • Heat-Inactivated FBS – Reduces complement activity; commonly used in immunological assays.

All FBS products undergo extensive testing for sterility, mycoplasma, endotoxin levels, and performance across multiple cell lines.

Bovine Calf and Donor Serum

  • Newborn Calf Serum (NCS) – Rich in growth factors, ideal for fast-dividing cells.

Specialty Sera

For researchers working on specific or demanding applications, Corning offers a range of specialty sera tailored to your experimental needs:

  • Donor horse Serum – can be used for various cell culture and immunochemical assays and is used to product antitoxins to a variety of diseases.
  • Rabbit Serum or sheep serum– Often used as blocking agent in immunological studies.

Why Choose Corning Serum?

  • Traceability & Regulatory Compliance: all sera come with full documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and origin, and are compliant with relevant international standards (e.g., USDA, EMA, ISO).
  • Stringent Quality Control: each lot is tested for sterility, mycoplasma, endotoxin levels, haemoglobin content, and performance with multiple cell lines.
  • Consistent Performance: minimized lot-to-lot variation ensures reproducibility — critical for longitudinal studies, cell therapy, and bioproduction.
  • Global Supply Chain: reliable sourcing and logistics help reduce risk of supply interruptions and support long-term research continuity.

Applications

Corning sera are trusted by researchers worldwide for:

  • Cell proliferation & viability studies
  • Stem cell culture
  • Vaccine development
  • Immunological and metabolic assays
  • Biomanufacturing and biologics production
  • Diagnostic kit manufacturing
