The Sommer portable radar profiler, RP-30, offers the possibility to easily measure surface speed profiles of waterways within minutes. When entering the cross-section, the current water level is determined from which the exact flow rate will be derived.
The Radar Profiler is therefore ideally suited for selective measurement and therefore for periodic control and verification measurements at projects. The RP-30 shows its great added value by performing reliable measurement values in flood situations - a very interesting situation from a hydrological point of view in risk management and flood plain monitoring.
The RP-30 can easily be moved and mounted on a bridge railing without drilling, and then scan sections via stationary measurements. Other options such as a tripod and spans with a cable lift are also possibilities. Like the permanent discharge system the RQ-30, the RP-30 has all the advantages of non-contact measurements.
- Portable mobile measuring system
- Simple mounting on cable cranes, bridge railings or tripods
- Suitable for flood conditions and high flow velocities
- Non-contact radar measuring technology
- No threat from debris or driftwood
- Calculation of discharge with known water level and cross section profile
- Easy operator controls and handling
- Remote data transmission via Bluetooth
- Measuring range from +/- 0.10 to +/- 15 m/s (depending on the flow conditions)
