The Bead Baths are an innovative alternative to traditional laboratory water baths. They come in volumes of 6, 14 or 20 litres and have a temperature range of +5°C to 80°C. By using specially designed beads instead of water, many advantages are achieved over traditional baths.
- Stays clean: bead baths stay dry and protected from microbial contaminants in the water. It is therefore no longer necessary to constantly disinfect the bath.
- Energy-saving & environmentally friendly: the beads maintain their temperature and don't evaporate. They consume less energy than water, require no germicides and are recyclable.
- Saves time: the bath can be left on continuously, which reduces the heating time. This makes laboratory experiments simple and repeatable.
- Organised: no racks or accessories needed to keep your samples in place.
- Sample holders or vessels that are not watertight can be used perfectly.
- The risk of information labels coming loose and floating around is also eliminated.
Furthermore, the beads are compatible with some types of standard water baths. The general rule is that they are compatible if there are no moving parts such as shaking or stirring elements and if it is a shallow bath with standard dimensions. Please note that even then there may be exceptions. It is always advisable to have Elscolab check as to whether your current bath is compatible. Of course, full compatibility is only 100% ensured when the beads are used in combination with a bead bath.
