Optimisation of Online Measurement Set-Ups
In- and online process analysers save a lot of time and money. You get real-time results under the current process conditions, with high reliability. Process control and, last but not least, fast reaction in case of exceeding the measured values (also think of safety) are only possible thanks to good process analysers. Compared to sampling and analysis in the lab, process analysers are much more consistent because no chemical or physical change occurs due to, for example, cooling of the sample.
But it’s not always sunshine and roses. In that case Elscolab helps you to optimise in- and online analysers and measurements.
Analysis doctor
Elscolab has many specialists at its disposal. Our specialists not only know the measuring principles and analysers through and through, they also have many years of practical experience in the field. Does your process measurement not always run smoothly? Don’t hesitate to call on them.
The specialist listens to your comments. Too much maintenance, too many deviations, short lifespan, unstable, etc. It’s all possible. He or she then analyses the process and the analyser. After examination, a diagnosis is made, just like with a doctor.
After the diagnosis, the analysis doctor proposes a treatment. Very often, these are minor modifications to the assembly or the use of a different sensor. Sometimes the remedy is more drastic and requires more sophisticated equipment or automation. Together with the specialist, you then go through the potential solution(s).
Prevention is better than cure
Many problems can be identified in advance and in time. Once the diagnosis is made, you can work on the cause. Using the right tools, you can detect any contamination early so that you are notified to carry out maintenance or have this done automatically.
Intelligent sensors
Intelligent sensors for inline analysers have been established over the years. They can tell you when they need maintenance or recalibration. This mainly depends on the conditions to which the sensor is exposed. The built-in intelligence takes this into account and helps you optimise the inline or online measurement and to get the best possible results from it.
Intelligent sensors can be analysed and calibrated offline via PC. All information stored in the sensor can then be viewed. You can add comments about how you treated the sensor. It helps you and our specialists to optimise the measurement set-up.
