Cold Storage
Ensure the smooth running of your research by providing safe and reliable storage for the samples. Using Elscolab’s wide range of products, we can optimally support and monitor the entire cold chain or refrigeration chain. This ranges from refrigerators at 8°C to cryogenic applications at -196°C.
Refrigerators and freezers
Products should be stored at a stable and correct temperature. So it is best to choose professional laboratory refrigerators and freezers that make sure of and control the temperature within narrow limits.
If the appliance is also to be placed in an environment where there’s a risk of explosion or if you want to store flammable materials, it’s best to choose an ATEX model.
ULT freezers store at -86°C
A special category are the ULT (Ultra Low Temperature) freezers, which go down to a temperature of -86°C. There’s a suitable solution for every application. Just think of ultra-efficient setups with an exceptionally high storage capacity per m², which significantly reduces the footprint within the laboratory.
Dry cryogenic storage down to -196°C
If -86°C is not cold enough, we move on to dry cryogenic storage at -196°C. We achieve these low temperatures by using liquid nitrogen gas (LN2) cooling.
In the dry nitrogen vessels, the liquid nitrogen is kept in the wall, which ensures the minimum temperature of -190°C over the entire depth of the vessel. Moreover, the samples do not come into contact with the liquid nitrogen. Constant temperatures and the safety of both the samples and the users are paramount.
Monitoring & registration
Ensure the conformity of temperature and other parameters by using a wireless monitoring system. The system records and alerts 24 hours a day.
Inventory
The storage capacity of freezers, refrigerators and cryogenic vessels is only optimally used when you work with a well-organised storage of samples in racks and boxes. This way, you get the maximum capacity out of the devices, and a clear inventory also ensures that the right sample can be found quickly, so that the cabinet or the vessel is not opened for an unnecessarily long time, which benefits the safety of the samples.
Tracking & Tracing
Proper and correct identification of samples reduces loss, frustration and improves product tracking and tracing.
