The detection and monitoring of potentially hazardous gases is of utmost importance to ensure a healthy and safe environment for users. Various set-ups are possible: portable devices or fixed installations. ATEX versions are among the options.
Infrared detection of flammable gases is a reliable and safe technique in explosive environments. The specific gas concentration is calculated through absorption of a certain wavelength. This allows the detection of leaks near pipelines or process tanks, and in confined spaces with risk of gas accumulation.
The D12-Ex-IR is a universal transmitter, which allows selection from a list of 18 pre-programmed gases (e.g. CO2, methane & other hydrocarbons). A special sensor is also available for CO2 measurement. The transmitter outputs a 4-20 mA signal as standard, optionally the device can be fitted with 3 internal relays, Hart or Modbus RTU.
