The i::scan is a UV-VIS spectrometric sensor from S::CAN. The housing, PEEK and POM-C allows it to be inserted directly into pressurised pipes. In terms of application, they can be used in both wastewater and drinking water.
Apart from turbidity, COD (f), TOC eq, DOC, UV254 and colour are parameters that can be measured to monitor water quality. This by means of continual online monitoring. By using UV-VIS absorptions at a dozen different wavelengths, it is possible to make correlations and calculate the concentrations. The temperature is also measured internally and can be displayed as a separate parameter.
The cleaning of this sensor is done by means of compressed air or with a brush system. The set-up can be in-situ, directly in the pressurised pipe or in a flow cell. The sensor can be easily connected to a terminal according to the “plug & measure” principle. This is because it has already been calibrated after production. The calibration data are stored in the internal memory of the probe and are thus automatically recognised.
