The idOil alarm system is designed to monitor level limits, particularly in oil and sand separators. The system consists of an idOil control unit, available in different versions, to which the idOil sensors installed in the separator can be connected.
There are 3 different types of digital sensors:
- idOil-LIQ for measuring the total liquid level in the separator on the basis of vibration.
- idOil-OIL for the detection of the oil level in the separator on the basis of conductivity.
- idOil-SLU for monitoring the sludge layer level in the separator based on ultrasonic measurement.
The OMS-1 alarm device is specially designed for oil separators. It indicates when it is time to empty the oil separator and thus prevents hazardous hydrocarbons from entering the sewer system. The system consists of a SET OMS-1 control unit and the OMS-1 sensor installed in the separator. It monitors the oil on the basis of a conductivity measurement.
The installation of this type of warning system ensures that the separator complies with the requirements of EN 858-1&2 standards, which stipulate that oil separators must be provided with alarms.
The sensors of both systems can be placed in a zone 0 explosive atmosphere, while the control unit is always placed in a safe environment. However, this is not a problem since the sensor cables can be extended with a cable coupler or junction box (up to a maximum of 100m).
