The Aanderaa acoustic Doppler flow meters (Single Point Doppler Current Meters) work on the unique and innovative ZPulse algorithm that automatically selects the most optimal acoustic measurement method depending on the circumstances.
Thanks to advanced sensor technology, measurements have higher accuracy and resolution with less energy consumption and do not require recalibration. The devices can even operate for up to several years in the marine or freshwater environment before the internal battery needs to be replaced.
There are two different types of single point flow meters:
- The RCM Blue logs flow rate and temperature. This measuring instrument allows easy downloading of data and configuration of the device via bluetooth. This avoids the need to open the pressure-resistant housing every time after use. The RCM Blue can operate to depths of 300 m.
- The SeaGuard RCM is a multiparameter platform with internal data logger. In addition to a flow sensor, other smart sensors can also easily be installed on it, such as for temperature, oxygen, conductivity, turbidity and pressure. For this purpose, the instrument has > 20 AiCaP sensors and 4 analogue sensors. There are three different versions that can be used at depths of 300, 3000 or 6000 metres.
The above mentioned meters are integrated with an internal data logger. There is also the option to purchase individual flow rate sensors separately.
