Measuring the flow direction, flow velocity and water depth at the Flemish Coast

For the Flemish Ministry of Mobility and Public Works – Department Coast, we handled a project where we could obtain data of flow direction, flow velocity and water depth at the Flemish Coast in an easy and accurate way.

For this project we worked with 5 SonTek Argonaut XR devices which we integrated in a matching synthetic frame. This frame is especially suitable for usage in corrosive seawater and it also provides protection against trawling. We placed the frames onto a concrete base, which offers resistance to the strong currents in the measuring area.

In addition to the preparation of the flow meters, we offered assistance during the placement and pick-up of the sensors at sea. We also take care of the cleaning, repairs and maintenance of the equipment.
