Determine colour and haze in a single measurement? The Vista L2 from HunterLab makes it possible. This compact benchtop spectrophotometer analyses the colour and haze of transparent and translucent samples, whether liquids or solids. Two measurements, one step

The Vista L2 measures transmission colour and haze simultaneously. A standard colour measurement takes 2.5 seconds, whilst a combined colour and haze measurement is completed in just 5 seconds. This speeds up decision-making, reduces errors and significantly increases the efficiency of quality control.

The device operates as a fully standalone instrument with built-in computing power and 32 GB of storage, capable of holding over 4 million measurement records. Furthermore, the touchscreen interface ensures that operators can navigate the system quickly.

Technology that makes all the difference

The spectrocolorimeter features a double-beam optical system with a 256-element diode array and holographic grating. The measuring range of 400 to 700 nm covers the entire visible light spectrum, with a spectral resolution of less than 3 nm. The path length extends up to 100 mm, allowing samples of various sizes to fit without any issues.

The results are expressed in international colour scales and indices. For the food industry, these include Gardner or Lovibond; for pharmaceuticals, EP, JP and USP; and for petrochemicals, APHA or Saybolt. This way, the Vista L2 always speaks the language of your industry.

Furthermore, it complies with the key international standards for colorimetry and haze measurement, including CIE 15:2018, ASTM E1164 and ASTM D1003. For regulated environments such as pharmaceuticals or chemicals, the device is also compatible with FDA Title 21 CFR Part 11 for electronic records and signatures.

Practical design for everyday use

The Vista L2 is designed to make life in the lab simpler. The compact device fits on any bench. The measurement compartment features a removable lid that opens on three sides, ensuring that even larger samples fit with ease.

Exporting or forwarding data is quick and easy, as you can connect a keyboard, mouse or barcode scanner through USB. Moreover, the Ethernet connection enables a direct link to LIMS and SPC systems or network printers.

The device also operates on a wide voltage range of 100 to 240 VAC and is designed for use between 10 and 40°C. Automatic saving, automatic naming, and a date and time stamp ensure that no measurement result is ever lost.
