mA and Ethernet

Each refractometer generates an mA signal, over which the concentration is communicated. There is also an Ethernet signal to send both analysis results and diagnostic data to the transmitter or directly to the PLC.

It provides a simple and secure connection of Vailsala K-PATENTS instruments to fieldbuses. The following protocols are supported: Ethernet I/P, Modbus/TCP, Modbus RTU, Profibus/DP and ProfiNet. 

OPC (UA) Server

Vaisala K-PATENTS OPC Server is a stand-alone software that enhances interoperability. It is compatible with any software or system that implements a suitable OPC client and provides a single interface point for a variety of refractometers. The OPC Server reduces the amount of system integration required by not having to write custom drivers.
